Camper Makeover

We purchase a used 2012 Passport Express Super Lite travel trailer by Keystone in January 2017 from Camping World in Anniston, Alabama.

I am not sure why I have always had an obsession with campers. Perhaps it is the idea of being able to pack up whatever you need in your “house” and hit the road. It just seems so freeing . . . and it really it! It forces me to STOP working, doing laundry, and checking off my “To Do” list. It forces me to relax, enjoy the moment, and recharge my battery.

Our favorite place to “camp” is Gulf Shores State Park. We have thoroughly enjoyed each trip and lost count of the times we have visited there. Continue reading “Camper Makeover”

Our Storage Shed Makeover

Our storage shed needed some serious work! Part of the floor was rotten, some of the siding needed to be replaced, and it needed to be painted . . . So we decided to give it a much-needed makeover!

A Little Demo Work . . .

We had to remove the door, window, and some of the siding.

How to Install Quarter Round Moulding (shoe moulding)

We have installed A LOT of quarter round (shoe molding) over the years.

We renovated our house . . . and installed quarter round.

We renovated Mom’s house, including installation of vinyl plank flooring . . . and installed quarter round.

We recently added vinyl plank flooring in our basement and will be installing . . . you guessed it . . . quarter round!

Typically, you install quarter round to finish your flooring. It hides the rough edges of your flooring and sort of frames the floor, giving it a clean finished look. Continue reading “How to Install Quarter Round Moulding (shoe moulding)”

How to Install Vinyl Plank Flooring

We have been updating our basement over the last few weeks.

Our basement consists of two bedrooms, two full bathrooms, a long hallway, a half bath, and a living room area. The living room area and half bath are part of the original house (old concrete floor with many paint stains) and the two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and hallway are what we added on in 2013.

Because of the square footage and having to remove toilets and vanities, this was a lot of work for us middle-age folks, but it was so worth it! It took us 6 full days. Continue reading “How to Install Vinyl Plank Flooring”

How to Make a Burlap Picture

For those of you who know me, you know I have an obsession with burlap. I think it is because of its texture and it goes with everything! It also reminds me of when I grew up on a farm in Maryland.

I also like the idea of repurposing things so this project met multiple objectives for me. I get to use burlap, reuse something I already have (old picture frame), and I get to MAKE SOMETHING! ✂️ Life is GOOD! Continue reading “How to Make a Burlap Picture”
