An old doormat and some acrylic paint — Can you say upcycle?

This exterior doormat was faded and worn out but I hate to throw things away because it feels so wasteful. So in this post, I will show you how to paint a doormat with acrylic paint.
I selected two colors, and a paintbrush, and started painting.
It sort of reminded me of a paint-by-number kit I did as a kid. Below is a picture after I painted the white flowers.
Voila!
The picture below is before we updated our decking boards and updated our railing.
So before you throw away your worn-out doormat, consider bringing it back to life with acrylic paint . . . and it’s a whole lot of fun!
If and when this fades, I might try different colors. A really simple DIY with a great result.
